  • The 8th World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB) will be held 8-12 July 2018 in Dublin, Ireland. Abstract deadline is 19 December 2017. Several SICB members are organizing symposia or presenting keynote lectures - see http://wcb2018.com/programme/tracksubtracks/.
    Johan van Leeuwen and Tom Daniel are organizing "Biomechanics in Nature I, a tribute to Prof R. McNeill Alexander" and Graham Askew and Andy Biewener are organizing "Biomechanics in Nature II, a tribute to Prof R. McNeill Alexander" under the "Emerging Areas" Topic. SICB members are encouraged to consider presenting a talk and attending the meeting.

  • The 55th annual conference of the Animal Behavior Society will be held 2-6 Aug 2018 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, hosted by the Univ. of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Registration and submission of abstracts will open in February. Deadline for Abstracts is 1 April 2018. Early bird registration deadline is 15 April.   • Sfecologie2018 International Conference on Ecological Sciences (https://sfecologie2018.sciencesconf.org/), the conference of the French Society of Ecology and Evolution (Sfe2) will take place in Rennes, France in October 2018. The conference will be held at the historic Couvent des Jacobins (http://centre-congres- rennes.fr/), in the old part of the city of Rennes, ensuring convenient public transportation for the attendees.
    This meeting will promote and support exchanges around the latest developments in research and the most exciting challenges raised from the different disciplines of ecology. Contributions will be welcome on any aspect of ecology and evolution, including focused empirical and theoretical ecological studies, to engage and strengthen fruitful collaboration and intellectual exchanges.
