Dr. Kenneth Sebens, Past President of SICB: "Integrative and Comparative Ecology"
Dr. Kenneth P. Sebens is Professor in the Department of Biology and School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington. He is currently resident at the UW's Friday Harbor Laboratories (since 2005) and was Director of FHL from 2005 to 2013 and Dennis Willows Director's Endowed Professor (2011-2013). Dr. Sebens received his BA from the University of Connecticut in 1972 and his PhD from the University of Washington in 1977. During 1977-2005 he held faculty positions at Harvard University, Northeastern University, and the University of Maryland College Park, and was Dean at the University of Massachusetts, Boston and Director of Northeastern's Marine Science Center. He conducts research on marine subtidal benthic populations and communities in both temperate and tropical locations. Ongoing projects include investigations of community and population dynamics, and long-term change, in rocky subtidal habitats in Massachusetts (continuous, 1978 to present) and in San Juan Channel WA (2006-present). Dr. Sebens has published widely on marine biological and ecological topics and has mentored 32 graduate students at four universities since 1978, many of whom now have careers as university faculty and research scientists.- Interactive Online Schedule

Child Care
Preferred Sitters will be the childcare service in Palm Beach, Florida. We have been providing superior child daycare services for years, for corporate and government events. Be assured that your child will be cared for in a fun, active and caring environment while you are in your sessions. We have lots of activities planned for your children, like crafts, Lego building competitions, story-time, Pictionary, and LOTS more!
Childcare at the Palm Beach Meeting will be heavily subsidized by SICB, leaving the participants with a $8.00 per hour, per child cost. To register please email preferredsitters@msn.com with the following information: Full name, telephone number, email address, children's name, age and any special instructions/needs. Preferred Sitters will respond within 48 hours with confirmation and will assign a "ticket number".
