Innovations in Evolutionary Biology


    Late-Breaking Symposium

    Drs. Stephen Jay Gould and Lynn Margulis will share their research in a late-breaking symposium at the SICB 1998 Annual Meeting, Jan. 3-7, in Boston. In this symposium titled "Innovations in Evolutionary Biology," the newest developments in biology will be explored. Best-selling author Gould's books include Full House, Dinosaur in a Haystack and Questioning the Millennium. He is the Alexander Agassiz Professor of zoology and professor of geology at Harvard University.

    Margulis is a distinguished biology professor at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. Some of her recent books include Environmental Evolution: The Effect of the Origin and Evolution of Life on Planet Earth and Five Kingdoms: An Illustrated Guide to the Phyla of Life on Earth. This late-breaking symposium will kick-off the meeting on Saturday, Jan. 3 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
