Message from the Program Officer

Paul V. Cupp, Jr

I would like to encourage all DAB members to attend the New Orleans meeting as the program promises to be outstanding. DAB is well-represented in both oral paper and poster sessions. Also, the division is sponsoring a symposium entitled,"Bateman's Principle, is it time for a reexamination", organized by Zuleyma Tang-Martinez for this meeting.

Symposia for the San Diego meeting in 2005 were approved at a recent meeting of program officers. So, now is the time to consider symposia for the 2006 meeting in Orlando. The society is looking for a few good symposia. Symposia help to maintain and increase interest in our division. DAB can sponsor or cosponsor one or two symposia a year.

We have a pretty good attendance of our members at SICB meetings, but we need more of you to attend the DAB business meeting. Please mark the date and time of the meeting on your schedule and plan to attend. We need your participation. Graduate students and post-docs are very much welcome at the business meeting. See you there!
